Overview

Ballet Vancouver opens its inaugural season with a dazzling triple bill at the Vancouver Playhouse. The program features Balanchine's Apollo — a cornerstone of the neoclassical repertoire — alongside the iconic Black Swan Pas de Deux and the Canadian premiere of Jorma Elo's Slice to Sharp, originally created for New York City Ballet in 2006. Principal dancers Heather Ogden (The National Ballet of Canada), Frances Chung (San Francisco Ballet), and Francesco Gabriele Frola (San Francisco Ballet) — all Vancouver-trained — return to their home city for this landmark event.
