Grouse Mountain, in collaboration with Blast Media Print, has unveiled the largest Canadian flag ever produced, creating a striking new visual landmark across Metro Vancouver. This record-setting flag, spanning approximately the size of two football fields and installed on The Cut ski run, signifies a bold expression of national pride as Vancouver prepares to welcome increased international attention this summer. The installation is intended to be seen not only from the mountain but from across the city, the sky, and globally.
“This is a moment designed to be seen not just from the mountain, but from across the city, from the sky, and around the world,” stated Adam Rootman, Senior Director of Marketing, Grouse Mountain Resort. “As Vancouver welcomes international visitors, we wanted to put our support behind the home squad in a way that is truly unforgettable.”
The ambitious project is a partnership with Blast Media Print, which produced the flag and is leading the effort to secure its adjudication in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest flag unfurled on a mountain. Support for this initiative also came from Destination Vancouver and Destination BC.
The flag, visible from across the region and to incoming flights, is expected to become a highly photographed and shared image, serving as a symbol of Canadian identity and a beacon for visitors to Vancouver and Grouse Mountain during this globally significant season.
