Newcomers to Coquitlam will have a dedicated opportunity to immerse themselves in their new community at the upcoming 'Welcome to Coquitlam' event. Scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Coquitlam City Hall, the event aims to facilitate connections between new residents and the city's diverse offerings.
Attendees can expect to engage directly with City staff and various local organizations, exploring a wide range of programs and services. The event is designed to help residents navigate available resources and discover volunteer opportunities within Coquitlam. Interactive activities will be a highlight, including a scavenger hunt throughout City facilities and information booths manned by community groups. These booths will cover essential topics such as employment, education, health and wellness, and fostering cultural connections.
Further enhancing the experience, local sport organizations will provide demonstrations and 'try-it' sessions, encouraging participation and engagement. On Burlington Drive, a special display of vehicles will be open for tours and photos during event hours, featuring Coquitlam emergency vehicles and the Library Link.
