Anmore, BC – June 1, 2026 – The Village of Anmore today issued a public notice addressing a recent surge in illegal dumping activity, with furniture and various household waste items being abandoned along the community's roadways. This irresponsible behavior not only detracts from the village's natural beauty but also poses environmental risks, attracts wildlife, and places an additional burden on community cleanup resources.
Residents are being reminded of their responsibility to properly dispose of waste by utilizing approved facilities, such as the United Boulevard Recycling and Waste Centre. The Village emphasized that non-compliance with waste disposal regulations could lead to enforcement actions and significant fines, as outlined in the "Solid Waste Management Bylaw."
To combat this growing issue, the Village is calling upon its residents to report any instances of illegal dumping. If the act is currently in progress, witnesses are urged to contact the Coquitlam RCMP non-emergency line at 604-945-1550. For incidents that have already occurred, reports can be submitted directly to the Village Bylaw Officer via the municipal website. When providing a report, citizens are encouraged to include crucial details such as the exact location, time of incident, a description of any involved vehicles, and license plate information to assist with investigations.
