Mount Seymour Resorts has released its ambitious 60-year Ski Resort Development Plan, outlining significant expansions and enhancements for both winter and summer operations. The resort is actively seeking public engagement on the proposal, with input accepted until 4:00 p.m. on June 26, 2026. A public open house is scheduled for June 11, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Parkgate Community Centre, offering residents an opportunity to learn more and provide feedback.

The long-term vision includes a substantial expansion of winter facilities. Proposed changes involve increasing the number of chairlifts and surface lifts from the current 4 to 14, nearly tripling the skiable terrain from 42 hectares to 147 hectares, and growing the number of ski trails from 41 to 90. Additionally, the plan details upgrades to base area facilities, such as doubling the size of the Alpine Activity Centre and expanding parking capacity from 820 to 1,347 stalls.

Beyond winter sports, the development plan emphasizes Mount Seymour's transition into a year-round destination. Summer proposals include the introduction of a "Beginner Mountain Bike Zone," an aerial adventure park complete with ziplines, a via ferrata, disc golf, and new accommodation options like 25 cabins and "glamping" sites. New food and beverage facilities are also planned, featuring the Mystery Peak Lodge at the top of the Mystery Peak Express and two new warming huts in the De Pencier area.

Mount Seymour Resorts indicates that the plan will be implemented in phases, with the initial phase projected to commence within the next five years. The resort has also stated that all individual projects within the master plan will undergo further individual assessments and review processes, including environmental impact assessments, archaeological surveys, and hydrology reports, conducted in close collaboration with BC Parks. Public input can be submitted via the Mount Seymour website.
