Fire Prevention Week is an annual national awareness campaign observed the week containing October 9 — marking the anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. Port Coquitlam Fire & Emergency Services proudly participates in Fire Prevention Week activities, engaging the public with education on home fire safety, escape planning, and smoke and carbon monoxide alarm awareness. Each year features a unique theme encouraging residents to take simple but life-saving steps to protect their families.
