The coordinated action was part of an ongoing investigation led by the unit’s Illegal Firearms Enforcement Team (IFET) targeting firearms and drug trafficking within the region.

During the comprehensive search, officers successfully discovered and dismantled a clandestine drug laboratory. In addition to the lab, investigators seized a substantial collection of illegal weapons, described as a "large cache." The presence of hazardous materials typically associated with such labs necessitated the involvement of the RCMP Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response (CLEAR) Team to safely secure the site for further investigation.
