Overview
Kärma Sounds is the solo project of Montreal-born, Vancouver-based artist Karina Morin, and her sound is unlike anything else on the Summer Sundays stage. Drawing on soulful jazz, retro R&B, and electro-soul, she weaves together sultry melodies, hypnotic rhythms, and poetic storytelling into something timeless yet fresh. A former member of the chart-topping girl group Jaï, Karina has performed at the Vancouver and Kaslo Jazz Festivals and draws inspiration from legends like Sade, Chaka Khan, Erykah Badu, and Fleetwood Mac. Her self-titled debut album — described as a "deeply personal and sonically lush journey" — has earned CBC airplay and critical praise.
