BURNABY, B.C. — Local pastry enthusiasts and fans of traditional Nordic cuisine are in for a treat this month. The Scandinavian Community Centre has announced its latest Nordic Bake Sale, offering the public a chance to secure authentic, freshly baked Scandinavian treats for pickup on June 13.

Organized by the Scandinavian Community Centre, the event features a curated menu crafted by the Centre’s in-house professional baker, Paulina. All items are prepared locally in the facility's commercial kitchen, located at 6540 Thomas Street in Burnaby.

Because the goods are made in limited, small-batch quantities, organizers are urging the community to act fast. All orders must be placed and fully paid for by Monday, June 8.

This month's menu highlights a variety of Nordic staples. Shoppers can purchase traditional Cardamom Buns and classic Cinnamon Buns, both priced at $25 for a six-pack, or opt for the Vanilla Sun Buns for $27 per half-dozen. For those seeking fresh loaves, rustic Sourdough Bread is available for $9, and traditional Finnish Cardamom Bread (Pulla) is listed at $15. Organizers note that stock is already running low for both bread items.

The Centre advises that all products are prepared in a shared kitchen and may contain traces of nuts.

Customers who successfully secure their pastries can pick up their orders at the Scandinavian Community Centre on Saturday, June 13, during a dedicated pickup window between 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

To place an order before the June 8 deadline, patrons must fill out the official order form available on the Scandinavian Community Centre’s website. Anyone with questions or special requests is encouraged to contact the baking team directly at [email protected].
