The Greater Vancouver Orienteering Club (GVOC) is set to host a Why Just Run (WJR) orienteering event at Princess Park this June, offering a chance for enthusiasts and newcomers alike to test their navigation skills. The event, overseen by Event Director Caoimhe Murray, will take place on Sunday, June 28th, with activities running from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing suitable for potential dirt and, in wet conditions, to consider bringing a change of shoes and socks. While a compass is optional, with extras available for borrowing, a whistle is a mandatory safety item for all GVOC events.

Entry fees for regular WJR events are $15 for adults and $10 for those under 20. A 40% family discount is also available for adults accompanied by children. Annual club membership is required for participation and should be completed prior to the first event.

Princess Park is located at the northern end of Princess Avenue on the North Shore. Further details regarding the event map and specific course information will be made available soon.
